SparkChess (formerly known as flashCHESS) is free to play online and it can be downloaded from our website for home use.

You are free to put the online version of SparkChess (formerly known as flashCHESS) on your website, commercial or not, as long as you don't alter it in any way; specifically you must preserve the copyright notices and the download link. Download this archive - in it you'll find the game as well as a sample html container.

You may link to SparkChess.com or flashCHESS3.com website freely. You may not link directly to the game file (swf). Doing so is called leeching and is unethical. Such practices will be prosecuted.

You can make the game start with a given position and play a given side at a specified difficulty level.

SparkChess (formerly known as flashCHESS) is an AI chess game is written in Actionscript 3 and highly optimized for performance. Its object-oriented architecture, clean code and documentation allows one to easily use, modify and extend the engine and/or integrate it in another application.

The chess game is also easy to customize and rebrand for different purposes.

We'll give you the game, including full source code and documentation along with a licence that gives you the right to do (almost) anything you want with it. We just retain the rights over the original programming and design elements. There are no monthly fees, no royalties, no time or territorial restrictions or any hidden clauses.

Although we are not officially endorsed by Adobe, our chess engine has won the Site of the Day award on August 12, 2008 and we worked closely with Adobe engineers to ensure the game is running at top speed; we were also commended on the quality of the documentation. The game is even used by Adobe evangelists who what to show what Flash is capable of and was used even by Google in their Google Chrome OS.

TheSparkChess engine is made of 40 classes with a total of 25,000 lines of code. All code can be used with Flex Builder or FDT, is 100% English, fully commented and with JavaDoc-style documentation, suitable for ASDoc.
